summary:
sadie is an engineer at a small company focused on everything green. erik is a big-shot partner for a company that goes against most of what sadie stands for. put the two together in a stuck elevator and boo- wait! they have history! history that lead to a week (i think (⌒_⌒;)) of anger, avoidance, and most importantly ☆ miscommunication ☆ (rest assured, we only get a spark notes version of this tragic week)

this book was okay. i really liked it at first, since i like second chance books and the flashbacks were fun. but one of the biggest things that turned me away is sadie herself. she seems like the type of person to be introverted and quiet, but she’s talking about her lucky panties to a guy she Just met. i’m not throwing the word pick-me around because she’s never malicious, but she’s definitely like ur favorite wattpad y/n since she’s small, still super attractive in her frumpy clothes, tiny, and effortlessly charming to the coldest ice kings. and also super small. like microscopic actually. i need you to know this (๑-﹏-๑). the size difference is a tired trope in m/f romance, even for petite ppl like myself, and just threw me back into the harrowing 2000s of y/n fanfic. paired with her clueless persona and extreme assumptions, it made me dislike sadie a lot.

i can actually mark the point of no return for her in my mind, and it was actually when their miscommunication was cleared.
erik truly accidently fucked up, apologized, made amends, and yet she’s still angry and runs away to act confused with her friends.
why drag out the resolution? will she run away during every fight and doubt him? drag her friends into unneccessary drama? but besides sadie, erik is also kinda boring. he was another trope that fell flat since he’s this supposed asshole to everyone, but is somehow immediately nice and attracted to sadie. and the miscommunication on his end ,,,,

anyways! lackluster book, but i huffed thru my nose at some parts so that’s what counts i guess.
so whats the deal with that baker though ? can the money laundering front be its own story because i think that is Untapped Potential hazelwood

☆ i listened to the audiobook, and also didn’t like this that much,, so I can’t recommend any music !☆
