This book was unnecessary (like the majority of the last four books). The guide didn't tell anything knew and the novella could have easily be part of the next book. This series is dragging on and on for nothing, it lost its plot ages ago and it's repeating the same story lines over and over! I'm not sure if the author either doesn't know how to continue, or simply wants the money.
At this point I'm only reading this pile of nonsense hoping to get even just a glimpse of Lady Cadence (my bestie), Tiergan (the love of my life), and Bronte (for the love of God, please, give me more scenes with him, he's the best written character in the whole series).
About everyone else... Keefe keeps being an annoying, moping idiot, that keeps making bad decisions and crying about it endlessly. Sophie stoped having any character growth ages ago. Fitz is for some unknown reason written as the worst villain in the story, even if he's just a kid with very serious family problems.

But the worst thing about all of this is the writing style, it's soooo immature and annoying! It seriously makes me want to burn entire pages, especially when the majority of the adults act and speak like twelve year olds... And even the kids act way too childish for their age!

I am fundamentally opposed to the idea that you need to read a .5 book to understand the story. I refuse. I feel like Shannon Messenger and I just wouldn't vibe.

In other news, the first half of this book was a chore to get through. The second half does have my favourite Fitz moment (him being chill for once in his life), but I think the existence of the Neverseen's warehouse was absolutely ridiculous.
