A wonderful children's book that interleaves prose with wordless illustrations that tell a parallel story. It starts off rather depressingly—a couple abandon their younger daughter at the side of the road, telling the older sister to "forget her." But she can't, and instead she ends up on a remarkable adventure to the Memory Bank, where memories and dreams are sorted and stored.
This book is good for a quick read for older audiences and probably a great story for kids who are transitioning to bigger books. I think it has a good balance between having a silly, whimsical world and dealing with complicated topics like belonging, abandonment, family, hoping for a better future while still living out your life etc.
I loved the illustrations for this. The character designs are fun and the line quality has a nice soft touch that matched the tone of the story well.
My only real complaint about this book is that I found the descriptions hard to wrap my head around, and I had to use the pictures to understand what the writing was talking about. It’s a nit-picky complaint because obviously that’s part of the *point* of the illustrations. Also, I was reading this fairly fast, but it happened enough that it started to distract me from the story.

Meh... It was cute, but I felt like it should have had a point, or resolved the sub plot's conflict, or delt with the deep ideas regarding memories and dreams and remembering and forgetting.
It was a cute story about two sisters, and that was all it was.
