Headlee is thorough and precise with the content she has collated in this book. It is an argument in defence of and to promote leisure and meaningful use of our time against the productive, grind machine narrative. The ideas aren’t new, but put together in this way create a pretty compelling argument.

This book echoed some of what I’ve read recently about anxiety surrounding time resulting from our perception of not have big enough. It talked a it about the cult of efficiency and hustle… and the toxic nature of multitasking to our brains. I feel like it gave some decent practical suggestions for steps to take to start combatting the constant multitasking and angst that our brains are steeped in today.
