A tiny but thoughtful book on the connection of the book cover to the interior manuscript. Adapted originally from a speech given by the author.

An interesting essay on book covers from an author I haven't read from before. I especially enjoyed reading Lahiri's feelings about her own book covers. I wasn't aware that authors have little to no input on the design. I'm definitely keen to read more from this author, I really liked her straightforward style.

Hooter: Musings on a book cover by a book lover

For a book that takes so little time to read, the thoughts linger a lot longer. Jhumpa Lahiri simply has a conversation with herself aloud that you overhear and resonate with. The metamorphical relationship book covers have on the book's identify , often with no inputs from the author whose work it adorns. The intersection of art and commerce in making it happen. I'd call this an interesting essay than a book though.
