This series will hold a soft spot in my heart for life. It got me back into reading and re-lit the fire that went out years ago. But this book was not my favourite of the series. It felt rushed. The first half of the book was great and felt like it had a direction and a point, but then we suddenly landed back in the 9 realms and within a few chapters we were done. The whole trip to meet her father was basically rendered pointless. The fight with Hecate was SUCH a letdown. It was SO anti-climactic after leading to that point for the last 4 books. I do hope the next book is better, because this one just didn't hit the mark.

Also, I completely understand that Amelia is self-published, but the editing in this one was AWFUL. She really should have a group of Beta readers to help fix the errors before pushing it out for purchase.

The way Amelia absolutely *rattles* my soul is insane. I devoured this in record time. I was caught between speed reading and savoring the cluster fuck that is Aria's life and I wasn't disappointed. I can't wait for KOC because I need their HEA

They finally actually like each other but are apart for 75% of the book so I guess them actually being together will be the happy ending when the series eventually ends rather than part of the plot along the way. Wish we could see them actually being fully together while physically together but my guess is since every (and I mean EVERY) side character was given a mate/romance this book- the next one will just be all their mini-romance plots rather than an actual wrap up of the main couple. Gild has done the same thing to me and I really just wish authors would just write spin offs if they’re tired of writing the couple they started the series with.

Here we freaking go!!! This was the book I've been wanting for the last 4 freaking books!!!! Now, I still am not a fan of Knox, but that's because I hold a major grudge, and he's still a jackass. There was so much action and events happening. I was biting my nails and at the edge of my seat the entire time! It was wonderful! There were some scenes that had me bawling my eyes out 😭😭 devastating, to say the least.

“That Aria is your queen. She’s your other half, asshole. That girl was born to bring you to your knees. But she’s also the one who’s helped heal your wounds.”

"And lord have mercy on anyone who disrespects her, for her mate will not.”

Brander is a KING!!!! He's the standard!! The way he said this 🥵🥵🥵 let this man be happy and get all the women because, yes, sir!! He's perfect. I will hear no bad things about my baby Brander.

"Without you, everything is lost. We lose you. There’s no reason to keep fighting. Don’t let her take that from us."

Aria is still the BEST FMC EVER!! She gives no fucks and no mercy to those who hurt the ones she loves. She fights for the weak. She is amazing! She tries, as best she can, to protect the innocent, but there are always innocents lost in war. She understands that cost but will do everything in her power to keep unnecessary deaths from happening.

"War creates them because, in order to rise from the ashes, we have to die first."

She is vengeance. She is justice. She is a QUEEN! God, I love her.

"Family doesn’t let family do dumb shit alone,"

One of my favorite things about Amelia is the way she writes female characters and female friendships. And Esme is no different. Her friendship and love for Aria are amazing and so funny. Esme is not only wise, but she's funny too. I love that she warns Aria about things, but if Aria is going to do something reckless and stupid, Esme is going to be right there with her. She's a true ride or die.

"You’re my fucking anchor. Without you, I’m adrift on a churning sea. Come back to me, monster.”

As much as I hated Knox throughout the series, still not a fan, but I will say he has some great lines! He did not deserve what Hecate did, nor did he deserve all the grief and death that brought. I'm glad to see a "softer" side of him and him appreciating the woman and queen that Aria is.

Greer, throughout the whole book, just had me giggling and laughing. Aria and his friendship are that of siblings. He calls her meat sack, and she calls him a cranky old bastard 🤣🤣 it's just funny.

There are so many other good things to say. I love the action. It really was worth the read. I also didn't feel the repetitiveness or drag that the other books had. I'm definitely looking forward to the next book. But also super nervous 👀

You my friend can do no harm. This series has me in a chokeold - I'm obsessed!!

So, I found myself back in the Nine Realms or sort of. We had hopped a portal and skipped to the fire kingdom. Aria needs to find her roots. In as much as she's this bad ass queen everyone needs to know where they come from.

The trip however is not exactly all breakfast muffins with dad and tea with cousins. No, let's just say it's... explosive?

While we are racing across portals, realms and through forests she realizes the truth of her heart. She feels the strength of her womb. She sees the force of the family she has created without the ties of blood. She knows the bonds of love surpace DNA.

In one swift move earth, wind, fire, water, death, love and family fight side by side and rise above the darkness.

I rated this ⭐⭐⭐⭐ on Goodreads

Okay, rest up and then I will meet you on the battle field.

Ciao, love Cece xx
