What to say about this book? I wanted to love this book, but it was disempowering, angry, unnecessarily graphic, and repetitive in its messaging. The modern colloquialism is clumsy and confusing, not giving much context or charm to the stories. I felt the writer tried to inject modern ideas of feminism and equality into these old stories (which I definitely believe in and stand behind), but the characters lack depth, and the stories seem to be told in the most violent and basest way possible. Overall, it just felt... lazy and forced, like I was reading the fan fiction of someone who wanted to jump on the modern feminism/equality culture bandwagon, and did so with too little research and a much-too-heavy hand.

I liked how this book showed womens anger and their sides of stories we know that are so often dominated by male voices. I did enjoy this book but as its retelling of greek/roman myths it comes with a lot of content warnings. I have added some but I'd look them up before reading to be sure this is a book you want to get into
