Family drama, secrets, lies, and death… this is a modern (non-ya) mystery that comments and gives a glimpse into the black experience in America. This book was put together very well, with a lot of depth and substance. As far as mystery, I would say it is a little predictable, but that may just be because I have read so many mysteries recently that I know all of the possible endings. I would say this is definitely not YA, maybe 16+?

A bit more family drama than I tend to prefer, but a great mystery for those who like such things!

I will give Kellye Garrett major props for writing a book with a protagonist who does stupid investigative things without the police, and having it make total sense why.
