When I first started reading this book my main thought was "Jewish Addie LaRue." Although it has a similar presence it explores some different themes around life, immortality, and family that I found to be interesting and compelling.
Graphic: Fire/Fire injury, Violence, Child death, and Death
Moderate: Antisemitism, Slavery, and Suicidal thoughts
Minor: Cancer

After reading The Invisible Life of Addie LeRue I was intrigued by another book about a character who lives forever. Both female leads have a "forbidden" man they love through time, a man somewhat responsible for their predicament. But otherwise the stories are very different. I found the characters in this book hard to connect to- no one was very likeable. I persevered through- the story was intriguing but in the end it just wasn't for me.
Moderate: Child death
