A lot about tea, but not enough about tea? When I read the first few pages I really thought this man must hate the west, and even now I think he wants to boast about Japan, especially about tea. The way of tea influenced a lot in Japan, like architecture, clothing, and flowers and he wrote a lot about that, but as much as he wrote about the influence the Fabolous tea had, he wrote not enough about the tea, and the tea ceremony itself. Even the tearoompart had a lack of tea. So in the end I give the book of tea a 2 out of five because there is not enough tea in it. I guess I go make some tea now, because of my lack of tea

A very interesting book, narrating the origin and the development of the tea ceremony in Ancient East; Okakura published this book in the first years of the 20th century, in a Japan that was starting to acquaint the Western life principles, and as a conservative, the goal was to re-emerge the spirit and sacrality of Ancient East culture and mitology. Overall, this was a concise and well-written book, thanks also to a very good Italian translation from the original text in English.
