very weird and confusing. this is the first time i’ve listened to an audiobook of Phillip K. Dick’s writing (instead of reading it with my eyes)and I think that definitely added to my confusion. I had to rewind multiple times to understand what was going on. I appreciate the weirdness but i also just don’t get it.

this old school british scifi type of story flows in a dream-like way. people become absurdly and suddenly angry, and there's little to go on for understanding causes and effects in the overall plot progression. things happen, but the connections, if there are any, are muddled. despite this, the main character's transformation from fixing to creating is clear, and somewhat unexpected (not being well backed up by plot points). the sci-fi other world-ness is more interesting than the plot itself.
This was my first Dick! So to speak. I don't remember the plot at all, but I do remember thinking that it was perfectly okay.
