Fast and exciting with a lot happening in very few pages. This maintained a high intensity throughout the book.
Would like a more detailed conclusion to determine who really betrayed who, but maybe that is the point?
My first Le Carre and will definitely read more

I spent a good chunk of this book being very confused about what was going on (but that was the whole point, really). Everything fell into place in the last 50 pages or so and the ending was a gut punch. I thought that Leamas was an enjoyable protagonist in place of George Smiley. This story was such a cynical tragedy and it makes you wonder if the good guys won.
