2.5 stars. I liked this when I was reading it but now I can't really remember any specific plot points and I don't think I'd reach for it again.

Really liked this book. The love story was really cute. It was also a bit of a nostalgic read for me, as it reminded me of the time when One Direction was really popular (I was a teen during this time). The ending wasn't super realistic, but I mostly read for escapism so I liked that.

I'm pretty sure this isn't published One Direction fan fiction, but I can't say I'd be surprised if it came out that it is because it certainly read like it.
I can only imagine what it's like being in the worlds biggest boy band, and the centre of attention wherever you go, but it honestly sounds like my biggest nightmare. It was so easy to sympathise which each of the MCs, and I was rooting for all of them to figure their shit out and come out on top.
This was such a cute, quick read, and despite alternating points of view points of view normally confusing me in audiobooks, very easy to follow.

Okay, I feel like every review for this brings up how it's basically a One Direction fanfiction, but sue me if I say I don't see it. I mean, I'm not well-versed in the One Direction lore, so I could be missing stuff, but this is a good book on its own. Take it from me that this is great by itself and doesn't need to be associated with One Direction. It was sweet, sad, and touched on difficult topics. (substance abuse, paranoia, etc.) I thought Ruben and Zach's story was nice and felt pretty realistic while talking about being queer. Zach not realizing he's bi is kind of like it was for me. I also fell in love with Angel and Jon, the side characters. So, overall, I really liked this book. Maybe it's not 5 stars, but it was a good read and made me kinda reflect.
