I'm going, to be honest, I didn't have an intention of reading this book. I finally gave in because I saw it so much on bookstagram and everyone seemed to love it. After reading, I see why. This book was so damn good and I can't believe I was going to just let this greatness pass me by. I loved everything about this book, the characters, the romance, the storyline. I think my favorite part, besides the romance which is always a favorite for me, is the fact that the story focused heavily on the hardships that musicians and bands face in the industry. I didn't expect the book to go as deep into this part of the world as it did or take the twists and turns that it did, but I greatly appreciated it because it brought this situation to the forefront.

I will close this review out by saying read this book because I was internally squealing from the cuteness of the romance and crying for how the characters were treated. So if you want a book that gives you some great emotions, I highly recommend checking this out.

I loved the behind-the-scenes look at a boy band. The management, the diets, the lack of freedom… every second of their lives was controlled. Through it all, the guys stayed friends, and we get to know each and every one of them really well through this journey. I also loved the the discussion of PrEP and using condoms for HIV prevention.

It’s so amazing when co-authored books come together so seamlessly. I’m a fan of these guys!

Thanks to NetGalley for the e-ARC.

Um if this could hurry up and become a movie? I really enjoyed this story and highly recommend it. It definitely highlights some of the horrors of getting into the music industry at a young age. The book does start off slow and it took me a bit to get into reading it, which is a main factor for the 4 stars. Once the band went to Europe the story started to pick up and I was hooked! The ending of the book was so so so good and makes it so the authors can pick it up in another book or just leave it be. I think the book showcases teenagers figuring out their sexuality and the homophobia that people present on them because of their choices. I would caution people who had a hard time “coming out” or are triggered by content that has homophobia or bi-phobia as both are presented within this work.

This book really did surprise me. After reading the summary, I expected the relationship to be more shallow and drawn out. But, at 400 pages, there was a lot of character development that was focused on not just the relationship, but individually. It was also healthy development, which tends to be missing so much in YA. I did find that Sophie's character was more fleshed out and well written, but I am familiar with her writing style already so that may be why. Overall, great read!
