A classic science fiction novel that still holds the readers attention until the very end. A chilling invasion that is equal parts mystery, thriller, and fantasy. The values and social structure of the 1950s are present throughout, which will likely generate nostalgia for some and generational disconnect for others; however, each chapter provides anxious cliffhangers that will keep you hungry for more.

“The human mind is a strange and wonderful thing,” he said reflectively, “but I’m not sure it will ever figure itself out. Everything else, maybe—from sub-atomic particles to the universe—except itself.”

This book was very captivating; I could hardly put it down! It's not extremely scary, or horrific, in my opinion. But manages to keep a very creepy atmosphere. There's always this sense of unease and dread that I had while reading it. I highly enjoyed this classic, ans can't wait to watch the movie.

I don’t think I would’ve been able to read this physically since it was so dry. But as an audiobook I found it very enjoyable. It’s a little outdated, but still enjoyable and if you are a fan of classic scifi or first contact with aliens I recommend it.

Invasion of The Body Snatchers is one of my go-to comfort horror films that I've been watching since I was a kid. The remake with Lenard Nemoy. This is my first time reading the book, though, and I loved it.

There is so much philosophy in the book that I think is missing from the file though I do think that the book lacks in certain ways that the film excels in but bother are great and feed into eachother.

There were some moments when I felt like the language in the book was unnecessarily verbose, or that the characters made choices that I thought were.....really kind of unrealistic. ~spoiler~ For example, when they make it out of town to a motel but then decide to just...turn back and go back into town, I don't think anyone would make that decision. There were also moments where I felt like it was obvious that the person they were talking to was a pod person but they were still like...listening to them (Manny when he was telling them that it was all a delusion and the professor telling them that the article was BS- I thought it was pretty obvious that they weren't human at that point).~end spoiler ~

Overall, this was an amazing, suspenseful sci-fi classic that was just as good as the film and might become a go-to comfort horror read.

Would likely read again for fun. Not a lot of development. I felt that the main character was a little too intuitive at times, a little too conveniently quick to catch on to things. I enjoyed suspending disbelief though for a short while reading this alien book.
