a really interesting read to say the least.
i loved the theme of
humanity being stripped away from her throughout uantil an animalistic act can grant her 'purity' but that is not to say humanity.

i found the more diplomatic descriptions in the book dealing with the bureaucracies of her job to be quite dull, but the descriptions of nature and of the bear are enthralling and quite unlike anything i have ever read. at first i was not a fan of the small, rapid sentences but they grew on me rather quickly.

Wow. I’m not surprised this book has been called “the most controversial book in Canadian history.” It is something else!
I was intrigued and disturbed but I definitely liked the book more after I read the afterword at the end. The message in the afterword is quite profound.

Not for the squeamish or feint of heart.
