“I will not sulk about having no boyfriend, but develop inner poise and authority and sense of self as woman of substance, complete without boyfriend, as best way to obtain boyfriend.”

I've of course known (and loved) the Bridget Jones movies for years, but I've never actually read it. It was just what I expected and wanted, hilarious and chaotic. No great plot or groundbreaking characters, but it was great fun and very relatable, so if you're looking for the ultimate chick-flick feeling in a book, this one's for you!

I just love that character Bridget swoons over Colin Firth as Pride & Prejudice Mr Darcy, only for Colin Firth to play character Mark Darcy in the film adaptation. If that isn’t author goals, idk what it is.

V amusing and v escapist, reading the next one immediately.

Wow, this is quite possibly the first book I've read where I've actually preferred the movie! Don't get me wrong, it's still good and I did enjoy it.

How on earth could it make its way to BBC's 100 top reads, if it wasn't written by a woman or wasn't about life of a woman in 90's? Or maybe BBC lists are not that great, anymore?
