It was ok.

It was ok, took me awhile to finish. Hard to keep interested. Kind of confusing at the end and did not expect that ending.

WOW! I am impressed. What an amazing story. This is the first story I have read by Linda and it will not be my last, I really enjoyed reading this one. Very different! This story focuses on the NEED for a baby, which does still happen in the 21st century. A well planned and researched story which will have you hooked from the first page. Brilliant. A well deserved five stars. Baby dear is easy to read, fast paced and will hold your attention till the very last page… It also has a very beautiful cover which goes well the story. I would highly recommend this book to you all!

I just can't do it. The premise was interesting enough but I didn't find any of the 4 main characters engaging or compelling enough to keep reading. I was forcing myself to read because I enjoy the genre but I can't imagine the end will be worthwhile

Interesting premise; a couple who desperately want a baby but can't due to infertility and a couple who become pregnant much to their disappointment. Then the author added a random character named Julie, a mystery involving an overdosed teen and multiple viewpoints. The result was 20% good stuff (I'm looking at you Jeff) and the rest was just too much babble.

Baby Dear starts off with a gripping scene in present day. Then the author takes us back to the beginning and to the build up of events that lead us back to where the book started off.

Being lucky enough to have children myself, I could only ever imagine what it must be like to be told that you are unable to have children. For Jeff, I think because the issue is on his part, he feels a failure and is desperate to not lose Caro. You really feel for the pair as it’s what they both want and the fact they can’t have a child starts to take it’s toll on their relationship.

Where as Caro and Jeff are desperate for a child, Sharon is struggling still to come to terms with having a baby. It wasn’t quite in her plan to have one so soon and in a way I think she resents the unborn child somewhat. Obviously that all changes when she has the baby. Sharon I did find quite selfish to start with. To be fair she is struggling with the whole thing and finds herself somewhat isolated.

This is very much a story of how far you would go to get something that you desperately want. It does make you think about what you would do in the same situation. I hope though not many will resort to what Jeff does.

Baby Dear is a heart racing and gripping read. The reader knows what is coming due to the story flicking between the characters. Jeff I just wanted to grab and give a good shake whilst Sharon I wanted to warn her of what was coming. It certainly makes for a tense read. Yet another great read from the queen of psychological thrillers/suspense.

I admit that this somewhat different because the husband was the crazy one. Even with that being said, this book was very predictable. I didn't read the book blurb but I still knew what was going to happen.

This book was about a couple. The husband can't have kids and this causes him to believe that he is going to lose his wife because all she craves is a kid. He does something drastic to try and save his marriage.

I can see what the author was trying to do here... and until I got to the actual kidnapping, I was beyond frustrated and was ready to throw the book.
Jeff.... this guy was an absolute moron! I never understand why people are so adamant on having a kid that is biologically theirs, but clearly it's important to most people. I get that Jeff is upset and frustrated that he couldn't provide a biological child for his wife, but for the fact that he though that he could just put out a request for a child and someone would just hand one over, is beyond ridiculous! It just kept going on too... but I finally forgave the author when I realized what she was doing. She was basically creating the backstory of how he became crazy enough to kidnap the baby.
Caro.... o0o did she make me mad as well! The fact that she married Jeff just for a baby.... UGH! If she wanted a baby so bad, why not at least get tested to make sure you both can have kids before you marry the fool! While through the book she learned to accept that not having a child biologically was okay...but the fact that she pretty much put down any other options of a child while wanting one so badly was super annoying.
I think that was my biggest issue with this book, besides how annoying Jeff was. Was the fact that these people wants a child so bad, but only wanted it to be a biological child, just made me so freaking mad. There are so many kids in this world that need good homes and it makes me so angry that people put their nose to them because they aren't biologically theirs.
As for Julie and Sharon... I felt for them. I feel that most women go through the stage during pregnancy of ..."do I really want to do this, am I prepared to be a mother, do I want to be a mother...etc." but again, does that make her a bad mom, or a mom who wants to just give her child to a complete stranger?!? NO! The fact that she didn't get rid of the baby in the beginning should have been proof right there that she wanted to have this child. I also gave major props to Julie, she was not only a great mom, but also a great friend.
Overall, I didn't care for the book. As mentioned above, my biggest issues was of course Jeff and him and Caro wanting a biological child. While the ending made up for the first 150+ pages, it was still a painful book to get through.

Carl and Jeff have a very happy marriage until they learn that Jeff is in fertile. Carl wants to be a mother above everything else and she is fixated with it and Jeff is terrified he will lose her. Across town Sharon is eight months pregnant, it wasn’t planned and is unsure she wants to be a mother. Jeff is convinced the only way to keep Carl happy is to find her a baby but what lengths will he go to?

This was a quick read for me, it kept me turning the pages until the end. I did feel however, that it was very unbelievable in parts although I did enjoy reading it.
