This is a book that's extreme hyped on social media, and I guess I expect more? It was kinda slow, but also kinda relaxing? 
I liked the c-plot the most. I was deeply invested in knowing who killed Adeline's great-grandmother. The ghost-vibes was a nice touch.

I also liked Parson Manor. It was described perfectly! 
I think Adeline was an okay FMC. I really don't see the hate for her. Zade was also okay, although unhinged lol.

Will be diving right into Hunting Adeline🫣

This book takes rough sex to a whole new level and wasn’t the usual dirty read. There are definitely aspects that had great plot and allowed for you to truly get two views of the characters, dark and light. I did the audio version of this book and throughly enjoyed it, even if I was gripping my steering wheel in confusions, disgust, or anticipation for most of it.

This is not a romance, this is an abusive relationship.

He rapes her multiple times, however this is 'justified' through his other actions somehow, terrible that this is a book that young readers are seeing being advertised to them as romance on TikTok.

 
Also poorly written, would have been annoyed if I had physically bought this instead of borrowing it.

I would give it zero stars if I could. Everything about this book is just horrific. And shockingly, that has nothing to do with it being dark romance. I don’t mind dubcon or noncon, so long as the MMC isn’t also near-constant in his self-righteousness about his “work” ridding the world of rapists just like him; even going so far as to lecture the FMC—who he rapes more times than I can count— about said work. Oh, and of course the main character never once, during the course of this lecture, calls him out for being the very thing he hunts and claims to hate. It’s the most dogshit piece of fiction I've had the displeasure of consuming in the last decade— and frankly,  in the entirety of my life. 

 If you care at all about literature, have two brain cells to rub together, value quality of writing, and/or don’t enjoy main characters who are painfully lacking self-awareness and the ability to conduct moral inventory, do yourself a favor and pretend you’ve never even heard of this book. It’s so abysmal by every metric you could measure a book by that I desperately wish I could wash its contents from my brain. I’ve never had a reading slump quite as bad as the one I had after this absolute catastrophe of something purporting to be literature.

The WORST. Rapist refuses to acknowledge that he is one while taking down other rapists. Sexually assaults the FMC and thinks that will make her love him. The author says non/dub con but all of this is non-con. Even if the FMC thinks she wanted it because she came. The author also says none of this is based in QAnon but that’s just to cover her ass. The whole plot of the MMC is quite literally a QAnonists wet dream.
