I fully expected this to be terrible and it wasn't. I wound up enjoying it. The relationship building is nicely paced and sweet. It's still weird that Sakura doesn't even consider seeing a doctor when he loses more than a month if memory. Because of incel internet culture of alpha vs beta males, it was occasionally hard to take this book's premise seriously even though the two are unrelated.

CW for amnesia, dubious consent, groping, and off-page implied attempted sexual assault.

Some Alpha/Omega stories work and some are just...okay. Sadly, that's how I felt about this one. We have Sakura, an Omega that's hiding their Omega status from their coworkers while they work at a firm. Because of his Omega status, Sakura hates letting anyone take care of things and tends to put everything on his shoulders. I get this idea of Sakura's but man. I hated the amnesia part of the plot. Narushige is Sakura's Alpha coworker and apparently his mate during that 2 week amnesia period. I don't like the reveal of Sakura's amnesia being while the two were being intimate and wish that could have been struck from the story.

Outside of that, I did enjoy how Sakura slowly falls for Narushige again, learning the good and funny qualities of this strange Alpha. The romance part was nice and I like that Narushige took Sakura away from the gossip of him being an Omega (an old classmate outed him). But since this is a single volume, it felt that the progression of the romance was not that satisfying. Obviously a good Alpha/Omega story if you enjoy those kind, but as a BL and romance, eh. That's why stories are subjective, right?
