This was a slow slow slow burn. Honestly the plot of the book was okay with a lot of new characters but honestly this needed to be a longer book. There just wasn’t enough development of anything with 101 new characters and Sardinia has a baby but we don’t even know what happens to her after that? It was fine but we needed more

The Traitor Queen is the breathtaking, heart-wrenching conclusion to The Bridge Kingdom duology, and it absolutely delivers on every level. From the moment I picked it up, I was completely captivated by the romance, the action, and the incredible character growth of Lara.
Lara’s journey in this book is nothing short of phenomenal. She transforms from a woman burdened by guilt and betrayal into a fierce, determined queen willing to risk everything for the man she loves. The slow rebuilding of trust between her and Aren is beautifully written—equal parts painful, passionate, and utterly satisfying. Their chemistry is electric, and the stakes feel impossibly high, making every interaction between them filled with tension and longing.
If you love enemies-to-lovers, second chances, and a strong female lead fighting for redemption, this book is for you. It’s filled with political intrigue, daring rescues, and swoon-worthy moments that will have your heart racing.
“He looked at her like she was his world, like he’d never stopped loving her—even after everything. And gods help her, she’d do anything to be worthy of that look.”
If you haven’t read this series yet, now is the time! You won’t be able to put it down.

It’s rare for a second book in a series to capture me as much as the first, but this one definitely did. I enjoyed it just as much, if not more.
The layers in this series are impressive—events from book one come full circle in book two, bringing moments of revelation and intensity. To fully appreciate this story, you need to catch those connections and dive into the political intrigue and deeper meaning behind the scenes.
The romance was fantastic—the tension, that line between love and hate—it’s everything.
This book hit me on an emotional level more than the first. I felt tense, teared up, and had moments of pride for the characters. Some losses genuinely saddened me, while the beautiful moments, especially of love, made my heart soar.
The only downside was the ending, which felt a bit abrupt. I’m hoping there’s more to come for this story and these characters.

Just as good as the first book. I liked getting to see more of the world outside of Ithicana in this one, and I’m so excited to see what will happen next.
