This installment reveals some more back story of some of the characters. We also move to characters other than pirates or wanna be pirates.

Nice action, wonderful characters.

I liked the stories within the stories. (& the girl-power)

Lower score not from lack of quality, but purely from personal taste--I'm not a big one for love stories. That said, Whitley's done a great job with the lead's love triangle, and I did enjoy hearing how Raven and Sunshine's ancestors met.

Book 3 of Raven the Pirate Princess picks up after the battle of book 2. Ximena is hurt and Raven will do whatever it takes to make it better. That includes going to an island with a legendary healer and forcing her to help. We get the family histories of Raven and Sunshine as they are talking to Ximena while she is unconscious. Things are moving along here and Raven and Ximena may be ready to admit their feelings to each other.

The other two love stories, narrated by different characters in the comic, took away from the tension of the main story. However, the main story? I'd rate it 6 stars if I could. I'm so here for the third love story!!

I apparently forgot to mark that I'd finished this and Hidden Figures a few days ago. Whoopsie :D I had a little trouble remembering what all had happened in the last volume (but that's my fault for waiting so long to read this one) but the story is still exciting and full of awesome ladies and I liked all the stories they told Ximena while she was passed out. More please
