This book stood out to me in the way it was written and most notably the characters. The characters felt strikingly real and human, with Jane/Searcher’s journey unfolding in a way that felt believable—her decisions felt very authentic to her character development and life at that time. While I did predict the ending, it didn’t take away from my thoughts on the book. It was a fast-paced, character-driven crime thriller that delivers engaging stories keeping you hooked on every chapter. I’d recommend this book to anyone looking for an easy-to-read thriller with unexpected depth and well-developed characters.

THE LAST 20% OF THIS BOOK 😱 When I say I couldn’t put this book down, I mean it. I was absolutely hooked. Something about this book felt unique, I felt like I was a part of the investigations and I loved that! Definitely recommend this one!!

The story itself is engaging, particularly for those who partake in true crime (podcasts for me). There were some predictable elements, but it only served to see if I was proved right. For the next edition, I’d recommend a re-edit as there were a few instances of incorrect names or punctuation errors that broke the spell. I’m almost tempted to make the fixes in the library version I have, but will abstain.
