2.5/5 - I had mixed feelings about Her Vol. 2. While Pierre Alex Jeanty’s writing is not bad, and there were a few poems I genuinely enjoyed, overall, the collection felt somewhat mediocre. Many of the poems lacked the depth or emotional impact that would make them truly memorable. I kept waiting for that “WOW” moment, but unfortunately, it never really came.

That being said, I do appreciate the themes of love, self-worth, and healing that run through the book. It’s clear that Jeanty writes with sincerity, and I can see how these poems might resonate deeply with some readers. However, for me, the collection didn’t leave a lasting impression.

If you cannot understand
why 'she' is a poetry,
let me be the first to let you know
that "SHE" is a spoken word
out of the mouth of god.
That is how she came into Existence.

honestly
NO

wtf is “your body isn’t a hotel room
for men to spend the night
and check out before the sun stands
over the earth
it was created to be a home for planting love
and growing a family”
and the following one begins with “i am a man,
i cannot tell you what burdens she carries, […]”??? bro???

honestly, no
as for the first volume, you can see it’s a man writing about women, but not women, women loving men and what women are expected to be, feel and do when in love WITH OTHERS (especially men)

honestly, no
repetitive within itself but also with the first volume: when talking about skin being honey and when the exact concept “them losing interest
doesn’t make you
any less interesting” of the first volume becomes “them not having an appetite for you
does not make you less desirable” in the second one

honestly, no
i expected the author to actually be “a great observer of her” but that didn’t happen, again, it seemed the author just gave a quick glance to a woman…

however there’s one i liked:

she will remember the moments
you made her feel loved
more than the times you said,
“i love you”

Not really a fan. The poems are short and not very deep. Not as inspirational as I had hoped.

Ok, ok... I don't know how I feel about this. I like it, but it felt sooo repetitive at times. Some verses are wonderful, however, I didn't connect with other ones at all. While reading I had some mixed feelings, I thought some poems were even contradictory to each other and that was a little weird, but I also found myself really enjoying a number of them. Some reminded me of my boyfriend, so they made me smile sometimes. I don't know if it deserves 2.5 or 3 stars, though.

Honestly enjoyed this one more than the first book! There was definitely quite a few poems I bookmarked about mature love, and about being in a relationship or loving people as an ADULT. Definitely made a difference. Some poems I had to reread a couple times as well cause they h just hit different. Def recommend more than the first and overall one I’ll probably look back on in the future
