3. No conozco de nada a la autora pero me ha gustando bastante! Se me ha hecho un poco pesado por el final, pero por lo general ha estado bien. Buena narración e historia interesante

This book was like a therapy session to me. I saw my experiences, my fears, my traumas and my hopes in Michelle’s writing. I’ll keep it close, I know I’ll come back to it often.

I’m not normally one for memoirs, but this has been on the TBR for a while, and it did not disappoint. This  book was heart-wrenching. It focuses on the complicated relationship the author, a half-Korean half-white American woman, has/had with her deceased Korean mother. If you’re an Asian American woman with mommy issues, a daughter of an immigrant family, a mixed person struggling with their identity, a person who has lost a loved one to cancer, or anyone else looking for an emotional read and an insight into the experiences of any of these groups, this is the book for you.

The only problem I have with this book is that the author describes every plate of food mentioned and its ingredients. As I'm not Korean and don't know anything about Korean food I wasn't interested in reading the name of groceries I couldn't picture.
