My first Abercrombie read.
Loved it. The grime, the dirt, the fights, the humour, all brilliant.
Was a little confused initially at the introduction of a (what felt like) large selection of characters but soon caught up who everyone was and where they were and what they were doing.
Will be moving to the 2nd part soon
Fave Character : Savine
Least Fave : Leo.

once i turned the last page, i immediately wanted to grab the trouble with peace, but had to hold GREAT restraint (which is me refusing to bring a big book on my upcoming vacation). i gasped my way through the last few chapters.
being back in this world felt like a hug. there is nothing i love more than reading about adua and the north - and, i'm learning, few things i love more than rikke.
it's clear how much his writing has developed from the original three compared to this new set - i see glimpses of the brilliance behind the heroes in these pages. i cannot recommend this enough!

Holy shit! After the standalone trilogy it was very refreshing to see Adua again, but the age of machines is beginning to take over. Best book of the entire series so far. Nice work Joe.

The Little Hatred is the seventh book in The First Law series, kicking off the third trilogy, The Age of Madness. This installment introduces new characters to the world of Angland, while also featuring some fan-favorites from the original series. As with all of Joe Abercrombie’s novels set in this grimdark world, the storytelling and character development are compelling, dark, and often laced with humor. The narrative is vivid and jarring, keeping readers hooked from start to finish. The fantasy elements in the book are subtle, with magic being rare but crucial to the plot.
If you haven’t read the previous two trilogies in the series, The Little Hatred can still be enjoyed as a standalone. However, I highly recommend starting with The Blade Itself, as it is an incredible book that will immerse you in Abercrombie’s world.
