I'm sure some people are going to give it a diversity pass, but it actually doesn't hit the mark. When the only diversity in the take comes from extras and background characters that's a fail. The imagined world itself is pretty standard too. So no more than 3 stars for this one. Likely not reading more myself.

What a way to continue this series. Very different feel from the original trilogy but not bad. Enjoyed half of the POV characters, the other half were a little bit boring. Rikke and Orso were definitely my favorites. Everything that takes place in the North is my favorite stuff in the whole series so I hope the next book gets back up there. The wittiest written book of Abercrombie's yet, I had to hit the lol many a times throughout this read. Also a lot of the characters just got me pissed like damn you're an ass hat, looking at you Stour (Although I'm excited to see his character since he's apparently not just some idiot who wants to kill everyone, as seen by his quote below).

4 estrelas!
