Loved it :) read the original English couple of weeks ago and liked it so much, I pre-ordered the German translation. The translator did an amazing job and captured Sophie Gonzales' writing beautifully, bringing it to a German speaking audience. I loved reading this in my native language and wished, this book was available when I was 17. I would've loved it then as much as I love it now. Highly recommend if you fancy a good rom-com reminiscentof early 2000's teen movies :)

This book was absolutely lovely! I read it all in one day while laying in bed sick, and it was a great read for that. I read the synopsis months ago, and kind of forgot it by the time my library hold became available, so it was refreshing to not know which relationship to root for. Also, to have a scene with a bunch of queer people telling a bi woman she's queer even if she's dating a straight guy--god, it feels so good to be seen.

This was a very sweet book, and I loved all of the characters (except
Brooke. Good God she is the worst.
But obviously not everyone can be lovable, so it’s fine. I think it ended well, and the story was cohesive. The author did a great job describing the mixture of maturity and immaturity that comes with being in high school. You feel so self-aware and like you have everything under control until suddenly everything is a mess and you have no idea what happened. A great read!

Reread 22 June 2022

Hi, I still really love this book. I’m very much wishing that Sophie would, like, write other books in the same universe or whatever, I need the POPCU (Perfect On Paper cinematic universe)

Original Read Through 10 April 2021

I don’t even know what to say...tbh, I plan on re-writing this later on next week when I have more time. I just wanted to mark my having read this.

I just.

Y’all.

I didn’t even come here expecting that I would love Perfect on Paper, but this lovely little pile of paper sucked me in as soon as I started around 8am this morning. Even when I had to leave for work at 2pm and couldn’t touch it again till later tonight to finish up the last 20 or 30 pages, I could not stop thinking about it.

The characters and their development! Their relationships with each other! The simple yet engaging plot! The focus not only on romantic relationships but platonic ones as well! I couldn’t take it, they were all so well done.

I’ll allow myself time to write a better review later, but for now this is what y’all get. Incoherent babbling, lol.
