Genre: Psychothriller
Series: Standalone
49-year old Christine wakes up with no memory of the past twenty years. Ever since an accident that she had when she was 29, her brain deletes new memories upon entering REM-sleep.
Her husband has to tell her who she is and what happened to her every day anew. But when she receives a call from Dr. Nash, a neuropsychologist who gives her a diary that she kept over the past couple of weeks, she begins to undercover that some things about her story don't add up. But how should she find out who to trust, when she cannot remember anything the next morning?
I reread this book for a psychology presentation on anterograde amnesia, and though I knew about the ending, it was still a very entertaining and gripping read. The main character, Christine, is a very fleshed-out, organic character, and the writing effectively pulls you in. Some people have criticised this book for moving too slow, but I don't think so. The pace is just right to give the reader an in-depth view into Christine's life and the struggles that she faces every day, while still mainting the lingering feeling that something is wrong. The tension builds up especially in the last quarter of the book, but it is a very entertaining read from the first page to the last.

An interesting yet sometimes frustrating mystery. I liked the concept and the twist a lot, but there were a few slow and confusing parts and the ending wrapped things up a bit too nicely for me. Overall a good book and I was hooked for Part 3, I couldn't put it down then!

The concept of the story was original, but at some times the story became a bit repetitive (dare I even say boring?). The ending made up for it, though. I should have seen it coming, honestly, but I was so far into Christines mind, that I started to see the book as day-by-day. I forgot to think of what might happen ahead of time. Overall, I enjoyed it.
