Incredible memoir. Would definitely recommend listening to the audiobook as there is something so powerful about hearing her story in her own voice. Many sad, raw, and challenging anecdotes, but Davis does a wonderful job at conveying their impact on her. I didn't give it a full 5 star rating because it was very repetitive and she would retell the same stories multiple times which created a broken timeline and redundance. Still a great read though and one that offers a lot of insight into how lower-income and race dynamics play a part in society that we may be unaware of.
