Could’ve been a great novella, instead was a book with too many filler pages/chapters that interrupted the story every few pages and added nothing of substance.

A disturbing book. I read it as a physical book many years ago & have seen the original film but only vaguely remembered the storyline. I bought the audiobook because it is read by Steven Pacey, one of my favourite narrators (and as usual, he was fantastic!). The book is a LOT more disturbing than I recalled but that didn’t detract from the tale, nor discourage or divert me from thinking about themes I’d usually avoid / prefer not to dwell upon. Very atmospheric.
