madeline miller will forever own the genre of greek mythology retellings. for being less than 30 pages, this short story packs a HEAVY punch and also beautifully reimagines and reinvigorates the story of galatea and pygmalion. miss miller, you are a wonder.

Much like the statue, this book is beautiful, cold and sad.
While I enjoyed this short story, I do feel that the Afterword depicted a different story and referenced details from the story that did not reveal themselves to me. Somehow, the Afterword described a different book - one which I would have preferred to read.

I loved this!!! Madeline Miller truly can do no wrong. I loved how this show’d a Man’s horror at a woman’s independence.
