In many ways, a great book. I adored "Mnemonic." Lee simply settled into his mystical style more effectively in later works, and the recursive movement throughout this book doesn't work quite as well.

I really enjoyed this book a lot. this will definitely be something I reread. "Dreaming of Hair" is now my second favorite of all time. I both can and can't believe this is Lee's first book. It is sentimental, sweet, and contemplative and my favorite moments are when he allows himself to be playful and weird.

A father's day venture that carried me through July. Truly a delight! Li-Young Lee's celebration (reverence?) of the everyday is filled with tenderness and patience. Particularly struck by "Mnemonics," "From Blossoms," and "Braiding."
