This was just an okay read for me. The Dreamland series is centered on the Kane brothers who are heirs to the Dreamland (think Disney empire) legacy. The Fine print focuses on Rowan, a bonafide grumpy billionaire with a chip on his shoulder. While working to fulfill the terms that will secure his future he’s thrust into Zahra’s orbit. Zahra a sunshine-y creative who Rowan eventually falls for. There’s a lot going on here as far as how Rowan treats Zahra, but the third act break up really solidified my general dislike of the MMC. I was definitely entertained, but overall just didn’t connect with the characters.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book!!! I loved the premise and the idea of it, different from what I’ve read before. Rating it 4 stars due to the very quick ending. I like happy endings, but I want a little bit more than just an epilogue. Excited to read the rest of the series.

I liked this book! Although it at times felt like phrases or motions were becoming redundant, I was happy to see Rowan have significantly less self-deprecating thoughts throughout the story and Zahra get her creative inspiration back along the way too. I also admired how kind Zahra was to everyone - even Rowan - while still making choices for the benefit of her wellbeing. Further, I loved that Zahra kept her career ambitions in mind regardless of what occurred around her. I was very happy with the conclusion of this novel! [SPOILER AHEAD!]
On one hand, I did not want Zahra to take Rowan back because of how he kept hurting her and refusing to respect her decision to no longer engage with him, but on the other hand, I sympathize with her willingness to be there for Rowan amid his steep learning curve, as he was facing a genuine person for the first time, which was understandably challenging for him to process considering his upbringing and life experiences. In that way, I wanted to play devil’s advocate for him and the messes he made. Overall, I cannot deny I was happy they worked out in the end and Rowan truly committed to bettering himself for Zahra, their relationship, their family, and even himself. </ spoiler>
