While reading the first two or three chapters, I cringed quite a bit, and worried I wouldn’t like the rest of the book, but it quickly got much better!

Grumpy billionaire Rowan Kane receives a letter from his late grandfather that states he needs to pitch an improvement for his legacy, the Dreamland themepark, in order for him to inherit his share of the company. The solution lands on his lap (literally) when one night, Zahra Gulian drunkenly submits a proposal that interested him. Rowan then begrudgingly hires her and unexpectedly develops feelings despite the protests of his jaded shell of a heart.
I have to admit, I read this book completely because of the hype. I will say, the swoony moments that people keep raving about? It's there. I swooned and tabbed the hell out of those scenes too. The swoon coupled with the steam is something enjoyed reading about hands down.
I think the biggest selling point of this book is Zahra's character as a whole. I LOVED her as a heroine. She had her personal issues but she still displayed so much strength and her energy is something I want to possess myself.
I also loved and appreciated that this book featured Ani, a character with down syndrome. From what I can remember, this is the first time I've read a character with that condition in a romance book and I deeply appreciate it. Ani played a huge role in melting Rowan's icy front and I think it gave a little extra positivity to the whole reading experience that I greatly enjoyed.
As for the things I wasn't a fan of, I'm very sad to say that Mr. Rowan Kane tops that list. He had his lovable hero moments, but I wasn't a big fan overall. He was the type of grump that put me off from the start and that lingered all throughout. My biggest peeve with him is the fact that he was so out of touch with the working class that he even made the heroine herself feel insignificant...and then he proceeds to feel attracted to said heroine and even suddenly kisses her. I know he had his reasons and he had his whole character development and whatnot, but it still left a sour taste in my mouth that negatively affected my view of him from then on out.
Overall, my experience with this book resembled a roller coaster (very fitting for this book if you ask me): meh to love to meh again. Needless to say, the ending didn't blow me away and that made me pretty sad.
Would I still recommend this? Maybe. This was a very quick and easy romance read thanks to the very short chapters. It just wasn't my cup of tea, I guess.
Moderate: Suicidal thoughts and Grief
Minor: Terminal illness and Death of parent
