Awwww soooo cuteeee! I love grumpy x sunshine and thr powerplay was *chef's kiss* My only criticism is that the attraction started way too soon after they met but regardless I'm really glad i read this!

At the 50% mark, I wanted to DFW this book but damn I’m glad I stayed with it. Although I didn’t like the MMC, Rowan, at all in the beginning, he really had a massive character glow up in the second half of this book. I was so grateful he evolved instead of having the author rationalize or excuse his shitty behavior. He was down bad for Zarah and the epilogues gave him the final developments he needed. Also, His groveling was more than just a single apology or brief grande gesture. Given that “show versus tell” was an ongoing theme, I loved how he ultimately won Zarah back and make it count for so many people besides the two of them.

Honestly, this book was just ok. There were touching beautiful moments that had me head over heals swooning for Zahar and Rowan. And there there were moments like in Chapter 51 that had me rolling my eyes because of what came out of the character’s mouth. If you know, you know. I am continuing the series to read Declan’s story. He secretly sounds like a hopeless romantic.
