One of my childhood favorites. As an adult, doing a read-aloud with my kids shows some of the flaws in the author's style. It' still a quick and fun little read that ignites the imagination.

Better than I expected for a book with such a title and 'childish' premise. There's some real depth and lessons and it's well written, and comes with very beautiful art throughout. I read this because my brother mentioned it was one of his favorites as a kid and I was curious and in the mood for a short read. I really enjoyed the characters and the progress of the story. I thought it was very well done and better thought out than a lot of contemporary works coming out in a similar vein today.

Obviously a children's book, I read this one aloud to my 8-year-old during breakfasts. It was a good read for her, and entertaining enough for me. I didn't realize it was part of a series, I may have to get her started on the others!

I re-read this not too long ago and wanted to make sure it was on my list. Great adventure, I even remember reading this when I was in elementary school.

Great story, and I think a lot of kids get excited about dragons that It is also a great story about when a responsibility is too big to handle and what the right thing to do might be. Creative and fun story!

This was one of my favorite books when I was little. I love dragons and fantasy. This was the first book I really fell in love with.
