If you've always wanted to read a depressing graphic novel that's essentially Homeward Bound meets The Plague Dogs, you finally can.

It was weird but stirring. Mostly I like that it didn't say much, leaving just enough to the imagination to make it intriguing, which I like in a book.

What happens to your dog when he takes off on you and you can't find him and he comes home covered in mud? Grant Morrison's answer involves a clandestine weapons program and robotic pet mecha armour. Frank Quitely's art is, as always, stunning.

Cute

Maybe the only comic I've ever read that could be described as both "gruesome" and "heartbreaking". (Those cover designs D: ) Morrison and Quitely collapse years of science-run-amok and lost-animal narratives into 3 tight, almost merciless issues. You'll enjoy it but you'll need to hug your pet afterwards.

Beautiful.

A tale of three animals turned into cyborg weapons to work for the US military gone wrong. A kind of Homeward Bound of the future.

It's very graphic, so note that, but the art is beautiful and the story it touching.

My only complaint is I wanted more of it! At 115 pages it's a short standalone graphic novel.

Just reread this. It is pretty hard to handle emotionally in places, but I still recommend it to nearly everyone.

One of the five absolute best comic series I have ever read. Stupendous.
