As someone with PTSD I found this book both powerful and relatable. This book doesn't sugar-coat the darker thoughts and feelings one can have yet still tells a poetic story

Quick read in which every word seems both deliberate and organic. The characters are deeply broken and even in their self-destruction and hopelessness there is a poetry and a sense that beyond hope or the lack thereof there is being because that's what it's all about at the end of the day.

This is less a short story and more a character study. It delves into the mind of a man who has a history of being abused. The story unfolds as he reveals past traumas and you begin to see how they are affecting him ad his life today.

Can people recover from traumatic experiences?
When is life worth living?

Definitely a short and interesting read. I need to read it again to begin to process the themes and allusions.
