I wrote a longer review, but I decided to just keep it at:

Sarah J Maas seems to have named a minor male character Eris, like the greek goddess of discord. Very middle-schooler-one-babyname.com vibes.

Ultimately enjoyable, better written than the first, but still running on romance novel logic™.

Sarah J. Maas takes readers on an exhilarating journey in this second book of ACOTR series, where the stakes are higher, the romance is steamier, and the twists are as unexpected as a faerie bargain. With richly developed characters and a plot that keeps you on the edge of your seat, this book is a thrilling escape into a world of magic, danger, and heart-pounding romance. Maas's storytelling prowess shines brighter than ever in this spellbinding sequel that will leave you eagerly anticipating the next installment.

This was just wonderful. Rhysand was my favourite character from the first book and I just couldn’t love him more after this book. And Azriel — oh Azriel has my whole heart. It was a wild ride I’m so happy I took!

First, the slow burn romance in this book is incredible. I loved the flirty ‘insults’ and banter between Rhys and Feyre.
I am amazed at how long it took for them to finally seal the deal; however, I will say I was a little disappointed. Feelings definitely were developing between the two between the entire book, but it really quickly went from avoiding the feelings and teasing to completely in love and talk of marriage. Rhys confessing to knowing she was his mate and revealing his secret feelings throughout book one was interesting to think back on and made sense for some actions taken by Rhys.  However, again, it was a little much. You mean to tell me Rhys was willing to sacrifice his friends, family, and city to keep Feyre, a woman he barely knows, alive? Mating bond or no - a bit much for me. I much prefer the banter and tension over the rest - or at least a slower buildup to the full blown love.

The second best part of this books is the writing itself. It is so descriptive in a way that felt like I was feeling and seeing the things the characters were - the feeling of the different court’s seasons, the ambiance of the city, the feeling of the night sky (a lot of night in this one).

As for the storyline, I appreciated how action packed this book was. It definitely is constantly on the move with very little down time. Even in the beginning when Feyre is struggling with her mental health, I was not bored and actually appreciated how realistic it was for Feyre to struggle after going through something traumatic. I also appreciated the fact that Feyre could have multiple love interests and have a past love that no longer fulfills her in the way it once did.

Overall, this book was a gem, even better than the first book.

The first book was just setting the stage for this masterpiece! It had everything I wanted and everything I didn't know that I needed.
