I didn’t care much for any of the characters, but wow King really can make anything scary.

This was a slow starter for me. It was a little dated, but I eventually became hooked into this book. This is one of Stephen King's "monster" books, but the story is still relatable. A teenager get his first car, but it turns out his car is a killer. The teenager's best friend and best girl get mixed up in the plot. The book switches POVs a couple of times throughout. The ending was pretty gripping, and the characters are ones I enjoyed reading about.

I enjoyed this, maybe not as much as some of King's others, but it was good. This one seemed to drag a little. It felt like it was a little longer than it needed to be, parts of the middle felt drawn out. I didn't mind the change in point of view, though. It made sense given the story. I don't think that's what made it drag, it just did; there was a lot of build up. But, it was good and is really everything I expect from one of King's stories.

Awesome! Loved the movie ever since I was a kid. Just getting around to reading the Novel- Different of course- but loved it the same. That's my dream car: 1957 Plymouth Fury.

The book really picked up at 30-40% in. Was a pretty slow burn until then. I enjoyed the story and how everything played out, though.

One of the most horrifying scenes for me was the part about the noise the flies were making hatching inside LeBay’s flesh. - Omg that description almost made me vomit. Such great descriptions.

Only complaint is how extremely flat the female characters are. Mrs. Cunningham is a helicopter mom and Leigh is just a pretty face/trophy to be won.
Perfect example (I laughed out loud after reading this):
“...she’s a very pretty girl.” “She’s more than that,” I said. “She’s beautiful.”

Really did not enjoy this one, I do like other Stephen king novels. This just dragged, was tedious and did not scare me at all...

I liked this book, but I think King over explains everything. Since he over explains everything I think the book can really drag on and get pretty boring. It took like 300 pages before anything even happened. When something did happen though it was really good. This was my first King book and it wasn't too bad. I find that it can be pretty creepy so I would definitely like to read more King books in the future. I just wish this book had more action in it.
