The Battle of the Labyrinth is a rollercoaster of juvenile emotions and mythological adventures. While I found the book to be a captivating read, there were certain aspects that hindered my overall enjoyment.
The big thing that stood out was the excessive immature jealousy throughout the story. It's understandable that these emotions play a role in the lives of young characters, but at times, they seemed to overshadow the main plot and character development. Personally, I share the sentiment that it would be refreshing to see more normalized friendships between characters of different genders, without the constant awkwardness and jealousy.
And a question - Where are the half-blood adults? Why are they not helping these children? Do literally no half-bloods live into adulthood, cause if so... grim.
I'm obviously going to finish this series, but I think it's a bummer I didn't read these when I was younger cause I'm sure I'd have loved them then. But they just aren't working for adult me. Too many things don't make sense.
