Very cute! I really enjoyed the chemistry between the two leads. The story had a lot of heart and, yes, a lot of heat.

Wooooooow

Who would’ve thought church girl Magnolia would be doing that. These books way too short man but short and spicy. I love this. It was worth every second.

Rene… Rene.. Rene.

If we could all have men like Rene, this would be a much better world.

I still don’t like Maggie but I feel for the girl. She went through a lot of manipulation from friends and potential partners.

Rene should’ve flat lined Calvin.. Sorry, Not Sorry..

Decent

I just finished a psychological thriller that was haunting me. I knew I needed a quick CCJ book to cleanse my palate. This book served that purpose. It was a quick, easy read. Nothing special. I struggled with Maggie’s insecurities. She came off as weak and whiny. That turned me off. I could appreciate seeing her find a good guy after being with a trashy ex. Rene was more likable, but not Book Bae goals. I did enjoy catching up with Cin and Landry from the first book. I’m hoping that the final book brings lots of fireworks.

I didn't really feel that CCJ umph that I usually feel. it may be because I wasn't really feeling Magnolia based on how she was acting in Hints of Spic towards Cin....but it also could've been that the feels just weren't there

Really good

Maggie is awkward as hell but I loved it. So relatable. Like she made me cringe so many times. And Rene was just...
I really enjoyed this quick story.

Maggie’s character from Hint of Spice really got on my nerves. But I was pleasantly surprised. After getting a better understanding of her, I was happy that she lost those no-good friends of hers and realized her worth when she dropped Calvin. She met Rene, who was exactly what she needed, and they hit it off. I really loved Rene. He was sweet and caring, but wasn’t afraid to tell Maggie what she needed to hear. Dash of heat was a cute love story.

I loved the southern twang of Louisiana and the culture. Maggie is still slightly Aggie in this book like the first one, but she’s a little better. Rene and his beignets are sexy af. Landry was being the typical older brother and trying to sabotage anything she would be having going on with Rene, despite Maggie being grown. Move around Landry and let her live.
