Kind of a bizarre mystery, but I like the hero and I like the twist.

Not quite perfect, but I really enjoyed this one. I kinda ended up appreciating the fact that in a book where the investigator character mentions several times how the killer is gonna be someone you'd never suspect (the least likely person, yadayada), that same investigator character doesn't even mention the possibility of suspecting certain characters, including the one who actually turns out to be the killer. It doesn't even cross his mind.
Obviously, because it's the 1930s and who would ever consider a woman capable of such crimes... certainly not a man. Still thought it was a fun point to make, if on the nose. Of course it could have further layers: who would ever think a woman could make a career out of writing murder mysteries? Maybe this was Agatha Christie's way of venting.

I guessed the direction of whodunit, but got the actual character and motivation wrong, so that was a nice surprise. I think the end explanation was satisfying, though the whole 'woman needs to be rescued by man, even though she is the one who figured it out first' is a bit meh.
