This was super cute! I loved all the movie references and the blossoming attraction between these two.

Where it lost a star was the third act conflict. Not so much what happened to cause the third act conflict but more Sally's naivety about love. I mean seriously, was she really waiting to hear bells? When that conversation took place with her sister I could not help but roll my eyes.

Also I felt the story took a bit too long to get to the this-no-longer-feels-like-pretend bit. I would have liked for that to happen sooner because it doesn't leave much time to grovel. Also, Sally should have grovelled in my opinion.

But overall a very feel-good romance!

She believes in true love and absolutely adores romcoms. He doesnā€™t believe real love is a thing and finds romcoms unrealistic.
But they are meant to fall in love while bonding over the classic romcoms.

My expectations were really, REALLY, high because I absolutely adored a book from this author. And even though this book was nice, it was just that.

It felt too much insta love/lust for me. Thereā€™s definitely room to improve there, but the idea was fun.
The constant mention of social media apps and movies makes it feel more real.

I got this ARC by the publisher/author in exchange for an honest review. Thank you for sending me this copy!

Thank you to NetGalley for the perfect romcom to kick off the new year. Iā€™m a sucker for the happily ever after movies and I could not put this book down. I loved the references, the relationships, the transformation, the eye opening realizations, and the cliche quotes we hear too often!

It was fun to read along and wonder what they would do next. I anticipated the evil antics of one character. And I canā€™t wait to read more books by Freeman.

I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley and HarperCollins in exchange for an honest review.

I am a sucker for a good romance novel and this one was no exception. Full of laughs, love, love, and tears, I am predicting it will easily be one of my favourite reads of 2023.
I had not read any of Kathryn Freeman's books previously, but now I am a fan!

The character development was superb and I felt as though I knew each characters thoughts and feelings. A perfect, opposites attract novel!

I've never been much of a third person fan, but I loved the style in which Freeman explored it. It kept me engaged and wanting to know more.

I highly recommend for any romance lover!
