definitely doesnt need to be read a third time. writing was okay, characters were annoying and predictable
Daphne is a plus-sized influencer, who grew up being made fun of for her weight and her insecurities. Now, she has lots of followers to who she tries to be a positive influence. Her nemesis, Drue Cavanaugh, who was mean to pretty much everyone in school, has now asked her to be a bridesmaid. Drue plans to marry Stuart, who was on a Bachelor-type show. This promises to be the biggest wedding of the season. Daphne wants to forgive her friend, but she also looks forward to getting more followers. It also doesn’t hurt that there might be some rich, eligible men at this fancy wedding in Cape Cod. What starts out as a story about women’s relationships morphs into a murder mystery. I have to say that I almost DNF’d the book during the first half. There were a lot of sad stories and repetition about her plus size, which wasn’t all that fascinating. However, the second half with the murder mystery I found much more interesting. I would give the first half 2 stars and the second half 4 stars, which averages to 3 stars.
Daphne is a successful insta influencer, sharing messages of body positivity. She is invited to be a bridesmaid for her ex best frenemie, the wealthy and horrible Dru. This starts off as a good chick lit novel, but halfway through there's a bit of a twist and it becomes a mystery. I really enjoyed it overall, even though I though the mystery aspect was a bit clumsy.

This book took a turn I wasn't expecting! Though I very much enjoy twists, I would have enjoyed more if the book kept along it's original path, and Daphne was able to help Dru embrace her true self, make amends to those she had hurt, and realize that it was okay to not live in the life shown to her by her father. I would really have loved for the book to have left both women in a place of self-confidence and pride in themselves, with their happily-ever-afters. Maybe that says more about me than the book, but there you have it.
As written, it is not a book I will remember. True rating: 2.5/5.
