I just read this entire book in one sitting-around 5 hours. I'm not sure I quite have the words for what I just read. I'm not entirely sure what I expected for the ending, but that was not it. This book was beautiful, infuriating, and inspiring all at once. The only thing I would have changed was for the ending to be a little longer. I feel like we didn't really get a good explanation or sense of how things settled. Other than that, this book was so beautiful, I can't believe the last time I tried to read it, I wasn't in the mood for it and "soft-dnf'd" it. I am very glad I gave it a second chance. Although, I am not surprised, I love all of Kiera Cass's books.

I really did enjoy this book. Such a quick and easy read. This is my first book by Kiera Cass. Although other books by this author are waiting in my shelves, I just felt like reading a standalone novel. This book was not a disappointment!

I really liked the plot, it is interesting and makes us want to keep reading. The girls are very relatable, their behaviours, wants and needs are well befitting their ages. The love story is very adorable, innocent and young. I also appreciate the way the story explores the love/hate relationship between the girls and Ocean - Ocean is portrayed as being good and bad, cruel and kind, possessive and understanding the same amount.

The only negative thing that I can point is the way the ending is rushed. I spent so much time watching Kahlen being depressed and making everyone around her miserable, and towards the end, when we needed a little more time do process everything that is happening, the plot just moves along so quickly that I think that some of the magic is stolen from the readers

7/10. This was a good palate-cleanser book. The book was emotional without being intense which I feel was appreciated. Very interesting mythology and mythological rules. Also, I love the found family aspect.

This is my favorite Kiera Cass book. This book is very easy to read, so it won’t feel like a pain to have to read through. The plot can be figured out quickly as the story is kind of basic. I really loved the ending.
