for me

This book was very disappointing. For me it was super boring. Like there was no action. Like there was action but at the same time there was none. It was repetitive and lackluster. I was so excited my the blurb but it was a letdown. The fake dating was lackluster and almost barely there. The relationship was kind of cute but again boring. The ending is the only good part. The ending made this book not a 1 star. It was a struggle to read. Like nothing happened. I wouldn’t recommend it. It wasn’t extremely bad but again nothing happened. The character just existed. Not for me. 2/5

I am definitely in the minority with this one. It was cute but I kept thinking this whole romance took place over a couple of days and I could not suspend my disbelief on this one. So definitely a me thing and not the story.

Larissa is a refreshing heroine. I really enjoyed her humor, openness and her straightforward manner. She’s not the typical female romance character, I loved her.
Hollis is a bit damaged and complicated.. my favorite type of book boyfriend.
The story has humor and a lot of heart.
It’s about opening up and accepting the good you didn’t realize was around.
The secondary characters are great! A lot of touching moments.
I enjoyed this book very much. I also loved a glimpse of River and Crew from the other books in the series.

Just. WOW.

Hollis was so beautiful, complex, but strong. But what do you do when you are in a world where the only thing you can do is be strong and the only one to be strong for you is you? Granted, he has River and Crew & btw River came through with his River wisdom. Sorry—that was my squirrel moment. Even though he has his two best friends, he feels as if he is still alone.

*Enters Larissa*

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE AND ADORE LARISSA. She showed Hollis all of the things he was missing. She knew what he needed without him telling her and vice versa. She knew he needed to be pushed, but also knew his limits. I loved the parallel that was drawn between Larissa and River. They both tell Hollis how it is straight. When Larissa told Hollis her thoughts on why he puts up walls—that was everything for me. She made him feel comfortable and at ease with not only herself...but her family. But what does someone who is so used to people leaving him do when he is experiencing feelings he has never felt before? When he is experiencing love, acceptance, and the warmth of family?

My heart broke for both Larissa and Hollis. They both feel unwanted, but in different ways. Hollis by everyone he has cared for in the past and Larissa with the man she loves. But both canʻt be further from the truth. They want each other and love each other, but both needed an extra push. *Enters Grandma Judy* Lol! I loved Judy so much and she came through for both Hollis and Larissa, but especially Hollis. She was everything.

This was a great ending to this series and this might, scratch that, is my favorite series I have read this year.

River, Crew, & Hollis taught me different things. River—He taught me to always remember how grateful I am for those around me and things I have. To always see the positive in the bad. Crew—He taught me to not get blinded by things and miss what is really important in life. To not take the little moments for granted, but rather embrace and cherish them. And lastly, Hollis—He taught me that even though it is hard to open yourself up to people and to love, it can be so beautiful. To fully live life and experience it, you will go through some pain, but the outcome will be so much bigger and better than the pain. And fully allowing yourself to love and feel, is the best feeling in life.

All three had great and amazing women in their lives that loved them for who they were and what is in their hearts rather than their talents on the field. All fated love and all different stories with beautiful outcomes.

I definitely recommend these books to everyone because each book will have you completely immersed in their world.

I received an ARC courtesy of the author and this is my honest review.

I enjoyed the romance for the most part but something felt missing like it was almost there but I started to drift away and I think unless I didn't need this for a challenge or two, I'd not be bothered about putting it down and forgetting it until I want another KU book and can't because I have my limit downloaded and see this there.

The plot, was fine. I liked both characters they were decent it just wasn't wow worthy.
