TLDR: 3.5/5. Not bad, definitely another set up volume. The story is really picking up and getting exciting.
Longer Review: The main issue with this story is similar to the issue with the previous one, it feels a bit like nothing really happens. The difference with this story is that I think we get some more meaningful character development than in the previous volume. While we were focused on characters that I believe most readers wouldn't care too much about, this volume focuses on some we would care more about. It introduces some new characters and develops some from the previous volume.
Spoiler Review: I think those books by Bonaparta are super creepy, but also definitely help to add to the story. His son with the puppets is also very eerie and helps to build suspense and tension. Lunge is better developed and I actually think that this might be the big arc for Eva coming up. We may finally be able to tolerate her character after this next volume. But we will see. That said, we all still probably hate Eva. We hate her even more than Johan I think. So volumes with her are already at a disadvantage. In addition to this, the only actually very solid stuff is the stuff about Anna's past memories (in my opinion). The rest is good, but nothing spectacular. That is why I choose the 3.5/5.

Spoiler Review:
It's getting closer, can't wait for what Tenma is going to do with Johan. However, things are getting more complicated, and the monster is still hidden, Mmm this makes me think, maybe the real monster is the human ego or their materialistic side.
Sometimes when someone made a mistake, it doesn't mean he's /she's a bad person, but deep down they are greater then someone showing a fake mask while stubbing ppl at the back; and the bodyguard is a real example.

The two children books "The Man with the Big Eyes, The Man with the Big mouth" and "The God of Peace" were good stories. They contained sadness and fear, that grew into Nina and Johan.
