To think that this book was released 23 years ago is mindblowing. Some of the things that existed in the year 2058 are eerily believable and I was left astonished in the middle of reading. How the hell did she get all these amazing ideas back in the 90s?

Like always, I love Rourke.

Another entertaining installment of the In Death series. Unlike the others the killer in this book was hinted at throughout but still left you wondering. I still love the characters of Dallas and Roarke. The interactions between Dallas and Peabody are very entertaining and Peabody's character has definitely grown on me. I look forward to #5.

This book wasn't as compelling of a story as most. I did find the topic, mind manipulation, to be interesting but the story flow itself wasn't as good. However the Eve Dallas character is still compelling so those that are trying to read the series should press forward.

Man, this is a fun series. Science fiction cop stories in 2050s New York? Yes please.

I think this will be the last one in the series that I read. They're okay books but nothing special and honestly I had to force myself to keep reading them.

4 - Jess was too good to be true, much like Casto. I am beginning to see some patterns- lots of smoldering sex scenes. How many characters can she have over 6 feet? I do like how tough Eve is. The mind control crimes and rules were interesting, but what are the chances of hitting on two mind control cases at once? This series could make a great TV show.

A solid entry in the series, taking place right after Eve and Roarke get married. It also marks the beginning of the Eve/Peabody partnership, which I enjoy because Peabody’s one of my favorite characters in the series. If it weren’t for the piece of really obvious foreshadowing, I wouldn’t have guessed who the bad guy was.

Another really good installment. The element of mind control in this book played up the futuristic aspects that other books sort of ignored. I enjoyed Peabody playing a bigger role. The ending was a little rushed. I found this book a little upsetting because
due to mind control, roarke rapes eve at one point.
